What is LeBonCoin?
Leboncoin is one of the most popular websites in France. It’s a general classifieds, or online marketplace for real estate, cars, jobs, and many other verticals. It was launched in 2006, with a simple yet original concept “the best deal is just around the corner”.
Schibsted (Norwegian company) owns LebonCoin as well as many other marketplaces across Europe. In 2019, it will conclude the IPO of its international classifieds division Marketplaces International (MPI). LeBonCoin is part of this new entity.

Valuation of LeBonCoin
In 2012, you could read in the press: “LeBonCoin, the website that was worth €400 million“. That seems funny now.
Indeed, LeBonCoin is now valued at EUR 2.9 billion according to analysts.
Others disagree, and value LeBonCoin between €3 billion and €4 billion.
“Taking into account both net income and very high profitability, a multiple of 25 times the current result could be retained, which corresponds to €2.9 billion”
