JamesEdition is a Global Luxury Marketplace, with more than 100,000 selected cars and luxury homes for sale. How good is the real estate section?
JamesEdition in 2020
New CEO
Since July 2018, the Chief Executive Officer of JamesEdition is Eric Finnas Dahlstrom, ex-Head of General Classifieds and eCommerce at Avito.ru. So, we can expect the company to head into a good direction, taking each vertical differently. The main verticals available from the header are:
- Real Estate
- Cars
- Yachts
- Jets
New Homepage
Other good news, the homepage of the real estate section of JamesEdition has changed recently (as of May 2020). Now it looks very similar to the homepage of LuxuryEstate.com, which is the leading real estate website globally currently. So to browse for luxury properties, that’s the good way to go.
But the Search isn’t optimal yet
However there is still a lot of progress to be made on the real estate search, to find luxury homes easily. For example, if you type “Paris” in the search bar, the first suggestion is “Paris, Spain” while we expect “Paris, France”. Is there even a city called Paris in Spain? No there isn’t. So it shows the geo-mapping contains some unacceptable bugs (May 2020) for Paris which is one of the most important cities for luxury real estate worldwide.
So there is still some polishing to do for JamesEdition in order to become a leading luxury real estate website. However, while the search for Paris is catastrophic, the search for Costa del Sol is very nice. Indeed there is a regional landing page (screenshots at the end of the article) presenting sub-levels such as Marbella, Estepona, Benahavis, Mijas.
Traffic Estimate
The traffic overview of JamesEdition.com by Similarweb shows:
- 674,000 visits per month
- Average site duration 8 minutes
- Pages per visit: 10
Therefore, the traffic is of good quality. However we don’t know how much of this goes to Cars, which still seems to be the #1 vertical by far, considering the current homepage of the website.
Bonus – search for luxury homes in Costa del Sol, Spain
When searching for luxury homes in Costa del Sol, the user will be taken by JamesEdition to a landing page which presents sub-levels of this region. This is a very nice user experience.
